Description

This tenant improvement is a 96,693 SF corporate headquarters spread over two floors within a new shell space in Chandler, Arizona. The design team reinvented the corporate identity and branding, pulling inspiration from the dynamic culture, fast-paced business style and the CEO’s Cuban background. Energy, Human Connections, Strength, and Growth were defining words further developed into images, colors, materials, and finishes, setting the mood for the project. Dynamic forms, patterns, and finishes were chosen to evoke a sense of motion with vibrant pops of color. Custom designed wall graphics were introduced to capture the firm’s energic, dynamic nature, while honoring the Southwest vernacular. Light and airy, inviting the outside in, the building contains 16-foot-high ceilings. Open ceilings and all glass perimeter spaces were used, contrasting with floating colorful, acoustic clouds and lighting clusters to highlight collaboration spaces.

The “Townhall” placed central to the main circulation and elevators, showcases culture and history through three major design features. First, a 30-foot digital timeline wall that displays firm history, growth, and milestones. Second, a “Division Partner” digital wall that showcases business acquisitions and partners, and most prominently, a back-lit stage displaying vehicles of varying sizes. These vehicles represent the unique “Violent Execution” market strategy which focuses on tackling a market opportunity quickly then the continued refinement of the products during future phases to stay ahead of the competition. This concept is represented physically in the Townhall by the progression from a skateboard (initial concept) to a scooter, a bike, a motorcycle and finally to a Mini Cooper (the refined, finished product). The Townhall plays a central role in the new corporate home, its history and serves as a collaboration hub for both visitors and staff alike.

With a headcount of over 790 people on two floors, and expansion plans to over 1,000 people, the HQ also includes two, large boardrooms, seven conference rooms of various sizes, eight huddle rooms that each seat eight people, five private pods, 14 small 2–3-person breakout/huddle rooms, and two training rooms. The largest, a massive 3,500 SF space can easily seat 84 people, classroom style. Every room is equipped with state-of-the-art audio video capabilities. The main breakroom was positioned close to the large training room with direct access to the exterior covered seating and pop-up vendor area.
